This Atlas was published in 1946. It appears to be a scaled down version of Bartholomew's pre-war " Handy Reference Atlas". The scale and street index are reduced and many small streets are shown, but not named, on the maps. Unusually, the index includes buildings (mostly Public Houses) and I have found some mistakes in the page referencing. Not up to Bartholomew's usual standard. The point of interest is the 12 page Supplementary Index "Street Name Changes, 1937-39" with 680 entries. These are included in my composite lists:- New to Old and Old to New. |
